The Nakajima family isn’t rich rich. Just- a little rich. Dad worked hard, got promoted, has a nice cushiony job... that’s the kind of family they are. So Yuto grew up in a nice house, in a nice neighborhood, with a cute little brother and a cute little dog, a garden in their backyard and he even had his own bedroom. He went to private schools and had lessons in horseback riding and basically got almost whatever he wanted. He grew up privileged, and he’s just the kind of kid to completely deny that. Because it’s not like his father is a celebrity or a big time politician or anything, he’s just a normal guy with a really nice job! They’re just a normal family with a really nice house! Really! As a child Yuto was given leeway to basically do whatever he wanted, and the encouragement to pursue his passions lead to dozens of classes and lessons in a random assortment of talents. After the normal young boy’s dream of becoming a fireman or police man faded away he became stuck on ‘rock star’ for the longest time, becoming obsessed with American rock music and throwing himself passionately into becoming a drummer. Next it was photography- he blew off allowances buying fancy cameras, and boasted about travelling the world to take pictures of exotic and unexplored places. Yuto, like many kids, bounced from hobby to hobby, interest to interest, and didn’t seem like he’d settle on anything soon. Before Yuto started sophomore year in high school his father ended up getting transferred to Korea. The move was hard on the family; Yuto may have been a friendly boy, but being a stranger in a foreign land is scary for even the most confident of people. Instead of making friends to hang out with in his free time he took to playing it safe and alone, and ended up with a lot of time to study. His grades skyrocketed, and eventually he regained the confidence he had as a boisterous child and began to socialize again. But even now he has a preference to keeping to himself sometimes and has more 'acquaintances' than he does true friends. Plenty of people like him, but not enough really know him. Before entering Yonsei, Yuto had never considered rushing. But in the end, with being away from his family for the first time in his life, the idea of a close brotherhood appealed to him as a means of finding some kind of support system on campus. It was spur of the moment and done with little thought, but he hasn’t regretted BCT yet. |
(1) Giant. Nerd. (2) No, really, he’s a huge nerd. On top of being an actual science nerd (that likes insects, who actually likes bugs), he’s a sci-fi nerd: he travelled to another country for a Star Wars convention and may or may not have spent a gross amount of money on replica light sabers. He likes to spout off completely random and useless facts that have no place in any conversation just for the hell of it, and will read anything you put in his hands. (3) Roommates should be prepared to share their room with any number of beetles or other creepy crawlers. They’ll be in a habitat most of the time, promise. (4) Before settling on his major he had secret dreams of becoming a wildlife photographer, secret dreams he may still secretly have. (5) Likes pretty people that are photogenic. He's kinda shallow like that. (6) Obsessive. If he gains an interest in something (or someone), he’ll throw everything he has into it. This also makes him very possessive and jealous. (7) Very picky about his skin care routine. (8) Despite enjoying his alone time he’s actually a bright, cheerful guy. He’ll talk with almost anyone and hang out occasionally, but has few close friends. (9) Hasn’t sat behind a drumset in ages, but can constantly be caught drumming with his hands on his lap or desk, especially while studying. |
